I don’t know why the attorneys general even bothered with the lawsuit if they were going to cave and settle for what amounts to a bunch of pinky swears that Ellison will behave. It’s just the Golden Rule: whoever has the gold makes the rules.
Agree with this in spirit and tone, but sadly, this was the plan from the beginning when he took that job. It happens all the time in the private equity sphere, and this is no different.
