Some of my favourite trailers are the ones that just show the opening scene of a movie

Yeah, the last 6-7 years it's been more and more rare for me to watch movie trailers. I've felt like they reveal too much, and in some cases, reveal almost nothing, but still too much. I mean, the trailer for Soft & Quiet was both excellent while revealing a tiny bit too much. I discovered the movie through a YouTube video on Sunday and found out about the big twist/reveal (which happens at about the 10-minute mark), but I didn't process the rest of what was said of the movie in the rest of the video. I watched it yesterday and was actually shocked by some things in the movie. I recommended the movie to my mom, but after watching the trailer I was unsure if I should share it with her. I didn't, but what I will commend them for was holding back that big twist/reveal in the trailer, but then again, they almost revealed a tiny bit that felt a bit spoilery and stopped you from being taken aback by the events of the movie, but I also get that they had to show that it's a horror movie. I honestly feel like movies like that one shouldn't have trailers, only short teasers, and only show tiny seconds of scenes that show the horror elements without revealing who's in the scene or the culprit of what's happening in the movie. So yeah, a bit of a long comment, but I felt like it had to be. I just don't trust them to not spoil entire movies anymore. And it's been happening for over a decade with TV shows as well. Look at the trailer for Ringers on CW. They revealed all of the major twists from the pilot in the trailer. So yeah, they need to learn how to market movies better nowadays and not ruin the experience.
