And many libraries also offer the Freegal music download and streaming service.

Great topic. I like to use my public library to check out titles not on streaming services to see if I enjoy them enough purchase later.

My library gives me access to the streaming service Kanopy which has a large number of titles. It includes a lot of criterion titles and its fair share of 70s cinema. The TV app can be a bit clunky, but for a free service I can’t complain.

The public library was my best friend in middle school, as I rented movies from them a lot espically movies that I didn't get a chance to watch in the theater. It was a better alternative than Redbox or even iTunes. Even when I got my first 4K TV, I started to request that they get the 4K copy, and most times, I was able to preview the 4K picture quality it was even better once I got my Dolby Atmos system.

I love public libraries. They were a refuge for me when I was a kid in the 70s. I couldn't believe there was a place in my rural hometown that let me borrow books. The same is true today with videos. I have borrowed a number of titles from my local library over the years. It is a cool way to discover new videos to watch without having to buy the disc. I signed up for Kanopy, and it is easy to use. They keep adding new titles every month. Public libraries are the unsung heroes in our Democracy.
